Sign the Charter for Compassion

How about committing to compassion in 2010? It’s not a quality that we talk about very often  - and perhaps in our modern world, it’s not one that is much lauded. But I strongly believe that compassion for self and others would make a profound impact on our world. We’d be able to forgive our own and others’ humanity, rather than blaming, shaming, getting angry, being defensive or judgmental. Peace, understanding, intimacy and connection – and dare I say, unconditional love – is possible with compassion.

At the end of the day, peeps, we are all just humans, carrying our experiences, our baggage and our belief systems with us – and we all make mistakes! Regardless of your ethnic background, country of origin, class, age, gender, income, status or height, being human – with all of our flaws and foibles – is one thing we ALL share.

As the Charter for Compassion says: “We urgently need to make compassion a clear, luminous and dynamic force in our polarized world. Rooted in a principled determination to transcend selfishness, compassion can break down political, dogmatic, ideological and religious boundaries. Born of our deep interdependence, compassion is essential to human relationships and to a fulfilled humanity. It is the path to enlightenment, and indispensible to the creation of a just economy and a peaceful global community.”

Sign up and let’s create a world of peace and understanding!
